August 15, 2004

Tremel Whitehead, 29, was fatally shot Aug. 15 in the front yard of his home at 634 S.E. Locust

8018-01 Homicide- Thrower, Monroe, Mendez
March 19, 2001

On 3-19-01 detectives were called to 1313 E 10th and found Willie Thrower 48, Marilyn Monroe 39, and Stephanie Mendez 39 all shot and killed.

On 11/26/00, in the 1700 Blk of SE Adams officers located Prince Johnson shot to death.

September 09, 2000

On 09/09/2000, at approximately 1:00 pm, officers of the Topeka Police Department responded to 1900 Washington Topeka Ks. in regards to a death investigation. 
 
Raymond Aguirre 83 yrs old and his wife were beaten inside their home.  Raymond died from his injuries.

Officers were called to 2954 SE Highland Ct where they found Stephanie Shields dead. It was declared a homicide.

On 12/8/97, at 1604 SE 6th Officers found Jerry Hall shot to death.

On 12/01/1996, at 3:40 am, officers of the Topeka Police Department responded to 1105 SE Locust on a report of a stabbing incident. The victim was identified as Michelle Hutchinson B/F, 4/19/54.

24883-93 Homicide- Vawter
November 09, 1993

On 11/09/1993 officers responded to 1200 SE Locust in regards to a deceased individual.  A female determined to be Sheleene Vawter was found inside the residence.

84-0701 Homicide- Lavin
February 08, 1984

Sometime between 02/08/84 at 1900  hours to 02/09/84 at 1300 hours and unknown person(s) shot and killed Clarence Lavin at his residence (trailer) at 4230 SE 85th.  He was known to his friends/family as Butch.  He worked for the Gas Service Co.  The M Squad was activated and a large amount of leads were followed up on.  The case was reopened years later but, as of today, no one has been identified as the suspect (s).
